HVAC/Mechanical
Do you know the estimated service life expectancy of your equipment? The following estimates are from ASHRAE:

air conditioners 15 years
heat pump - commercial air to air 15 years
heat pump - commercial water to air 19 years
rooftop air conditioners 15 years
boilers 25 to 35 years
reciprocating compressors 20 years
reciprocating package chiller 20 years
centrifugal package chiller 23 years
absorption package chiller 23 years
cooling tower 20 years
air cooled condensers 20 years
pumps 20 years

Cooling Towers

  • Having your cooling tower lined with a urethane coating will extend the life of your tower. Our protective coating is a two-part chemical resistant urethane mixture that is pliable and will not chip, crack or peel.
  • The replacement of corroded parts, hot water basins, fans, shafts, bearings and motors will improve performance of your cooling tower and help prevent unscheduled downtime.
  • Installation of new water distribution systems, filtration devices and electronic water level controls will reduce operation and maintenance costs.
  • Proper water treatment is essential to the life of your cooling tower. Published life expectancies for galvanized cooling towers average around twenty (20) years. Improper water treatment can cause premature failures in as little as one (1) year.

Welding/Fabrication

  • The melting point of steel ranges from 2500º F (1370º C) to 2760º F (1515º C).
  • The melting point of aluminum is 1221º F (660º C).
  • Ever wondered how a plasma torch works? High-speed compressed air is blown out of a nozzle. At the same time, a spark, or electrical arc, is formed through which the compressed air passes. In the process, some of the compressed air turns into plasma. This plasma is hot enough to melt the steel being cut, and the compressed air is moving fast enough to move the melted steel away. The end result – a high quality cut that requires little or no finishing.

Backflow Prevention

  • Backflow prevention devices require re-certification on a regular basis. Most jurisdictions require that backflow preventors be tested and re-certified annually.
